We are proud to share a major milestone for the HARMONIA COST Action (CA21119). Our joint special issue in Atmospheric Measurement Techniques (AMT) and Atmospheric Chemistry and Physics (ACP)—titled “Sun-photometric measurements of aerosols: harmonization, comparisons, synergies, effects, and applications”—has already received 24 submissions, with the majority already published.
This collection represents a global effort to standardize and improve aerosol products to reduce uncertainties in Earth’s energy budget.
🌟 Research Highlight: 🌟 A standout contribution to this issue is the paper: “Enhancing dust aerosols monitoring capabilities across North Africa and the Middle East using the A-Train satellite constellation” by Moustaka et al.. We are thrilled to announce that this work has been selected as an EGU Highlight paper! 🏆
The study utilizes 12 years of satellite data to dynamically estimate dust lidar ratios, significantly improving aerosol characterization in the world’s most active dust source regions.
Congratulations to all the authors and the HARMONIA community for these impactful contributions to atmospheric science.
